Alumni Profile: Erin Orcut

Growing up on Cape, I always knew I would attend college after high school. I had grand thoughts of going far, but upon graduating high school in 2001, I found myself not yet ready to leave. That summer, I enrolled at Cape Cod Community College and began my adult life on Cape Cod.

I found my studies at Cape Cod Community College were challenging and robust. I felt especially lucky to have benefited from the instruction of so many diverse and experienced faculty members. I spent the next two years growing as a student and developing my future career path. I came to the College with no real idea of what I wanted to pursue and later left with an Associates degree in Business Management and the opportunity to transfer to Bridgewater State University.

Today I am proud to say that I not only completed my Bachelors degree in Finance and Accounting in 2006, but also obtained a Masters degree in Educational Leadership in 2012. Over the years, whenever asked about my educational achievements, I always refer to my experience at Cape Cod Community College. Attending 4C’s was one of the best decisions I have made in my life; it propelled me to reach my educational goals and I was able to do so affordably.

Nearly 15 years later I have found myself in a dream career, working as a Business Administrator for the Cape Cod Regional Technical High School. When I speak to our students about their future education and career goals, I proudly share my educational path and the amazing opportunities that Cape Cod Community College afforded me.
